Why should I have a professional home inspection?

A home purchase is one of the biggest investments you will ever make, and an inspection from Accent Home Inspections helps provide the information you need to feel confident about it. After receiving our thorough, objective, easy to read report detailing the home’s condition, you’ll be able to make an informed decision.

How long does an inspection take?

The typical home inspection process usually takes two to three hours depending on size, age and condition of the home and any additional services provided.

Do I need to be present during the inspection?

No, but we strongly recommend that you are. The goal of a home inspection is not just to inspect the property, but also to educate the homeowner or potential buyer about the property’s condition. This is better achieved if you are present at the time of the inspection. It is always best to write your questions down and ask them after the inspection is over. Stopping an inspector with every question could keep the inspector from finding a defect. After the inspection is complete our Certified Master Inspector can review the report with you either in person or over the phone.

How will the inspection help me determine the condition of the home?

The home inspection is a non-invasive inspection. During the course of the inspection, we will explain the condition of the property. You will also be provided with the computer generated, easy to read Report within 24 hours after the inspection to help you make an informed purchasing decision.

What is included in the home inspection Report?

The report is an easy-to-reference document detailing the condition of the home’s major areas (such as structure, grading/ drainage, heating, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, roofing, etc.). In addition, you’ll receive a Seasonal Maintenance Checklist with tips for keeping your home in shape, and every report includes suggestions on how you can improve the energy efficiency of your home, helping the overall environment and also helping you reduce your utility bills.

Why should I choose Accent Home Inspections over other competitors?

You are assured of a quality inspection and know who you are going to be dealing with. Our staff have all been trained by our Certified Master Inspector, who has over 24 years of experience in the insurance and construction industry and is certified by NACHI and the Master Inspector Certification Board. Our Certified Master Inspector holds licenses as an Idaho Independent Adjuster, a Catastrophe Adjuster and a Private Investigator. He also has a security clearance through the department of Health and Human Services as a Fraud Prevention Inspector. If it’s there, odds are that Accent will be the one to find it.

How much does an inspection cost?

Inspection costs may vary from inspector to inspector, but for the most part, inspection fees are about the same. Inspection fees can sometimes be a flat fee, sliding scale or multiple variations may apply. The International Association of Certified Home Inspectors has a fee calculator that applies to all inspection services throughout the United States. This calculation is based on four primary factors:

1. How many miles will the inspector have to drive to get to the property;
2. How old is the home;
3. How large is the home;
4. How busy is the inspector?
